International Visitors

Does anyone think it is strange that there are soo many international visitors to this blog? If you're visiting from outside of the USA, post a comment and let me know what brings you to our site! :-)
By the way, this is a very cool picture of Bill while he was studying abroad in Japan during a holiday called Golden Week. I don't know exactly where it is, maybe Northern Japan near Aomori? I'll find out and update the post.

We Miss You!

Bill's mom came into town last weekend, and we had a great time!

She came in Friday night, and we relaxed on Saturday. We went shopping and just window shopped (for the most part ;-)). She took us to The Chop House for dinner--wow! It is so nice in there! I got a gigantic cheesecake.....mmmm....Anyway, we both had off work Monday morning, so we hung around the house and played with Clover.

By the way, you have got to check out the video of Clover. We gave her a raw hide stick, and she is the cutest! It's kind of like a pacifier for a dog.

Mongolia Trip

Bill made it home safely Tuesday night. He stayed in Ulaanbaatar (capital). I haven't seen his pictures yet, but I'll post some for you soon! He has some strange experiences. Who knew people drank horse milk?! EW! Not only horse milk, but fermented horse milk. The thought alone compels me to be sick. Anyway!

He brought back an outfit that looks alot like the picture posted with this. He has a new fuzzy hat too! The place behind these men is a traditional house. Most Mongols are nomadic. Bill said near the city they have some electricity, but only hotels and some apartments have running (cold) water! It really helps put things in perspective and makes me for thankful for being an American.

More to come!

Can't Wait

Hello all! Please be praying tonight. The travellers leave tonight (their morning) to go to Korea. They will be there one night, and then they'll be on their way to Atlanta! I just can't wait to see him again. I was thankful that they did not do the Marriage Vow Renewal today...maybe they'll do it next week and Bill can be here. :-)

Two Chinese friends came to church tonight, both are Christians. Meng is so sweet. She invited me for dinner, and we had a great time. She is the girl on the far right. Yes, that is Clover in the middle. That was the day after we got her! :-)
Well, I'm getting ready to start a new week at school. Pray for me as I teach the kiddos. I just want to be used by God to influence their lives. What a great opportunity!

News from Mongolia

Many of you have been asking how Bill is doing in Mongolia...

Here is an update from Bill's e-mail...
"You cannot believe what God has allowed be to a part of here. There are meetings with the translators about the project. I get to sit in on them all and just observe. It is staggering to think of the enormity of what is going on here. We are trying to be the vessels through which God will preserve and deliver His Word to theMongolian people. Of course, I'm just a spectator, but it feels like history in the making.
The best parts about these meetings are the people who are there. Paul Rowland from the Trinitarian Bible Society is an amazing man. God has greatly used him to help me have a greater appreciation forthe Word of God. How blessed we are to have the AV in our country. Secondly, there is a man named Billy Patterson who is helping. He isa Greek/Hebrew scholar but also a really down to earth nice guy. You'd picture him as your typical Baptist pastor/missionary, but he's incredibly intelligent, knowledgeable, and easily understood man. I'm going to make some visits for a holiday with one of the missionaries and Billy Patterson. We'll be going to two different homes. I can't wait! "

I can't wait to see his pictures and to hear more, but this little bit sounds amazing!

Until next time...

Thursday

Thursday was a great day. Kelly and I had a great dinner together! I got to play with Jackson and realized I'm not ready for children, while she played with Clover and realized she wasn't ready for a dog. hahaha. Their little one is soo cute! Check out their blog to see pictures (Radank Family).

While grocery shopping tonight a really nice high school student stopped me and remembered that I had subbed for his gym teacher once. It is really nice to be remembered--even though I was a "fish out of water" that day. I really have to learn to have some backbone before I sub for a scary man gym teacher again. :-) Anyway, the high school student seemed all tough until he realized who I was. He apologized for giving me a hard time, poor kid! At least his conscience is better. I really don't even remember him giving me a hard time. I just remember walking around the track with the other gym teacher.

This is our first blog! Yay! We're excited to keep you up to date. This seems much easier than what we were doing before.

While Bill is in Mongolia, I'm holding the fort. Clover and I are having a grand time. :-)
